Healing With Aromatherapy
I'd like to first start off by welcoming you to a new feature to my website ... the "Article Section" .... a forum where I can share insights and discoveries which will hopefully help you on your own path as they have helped me.

This first article I wanted to dedicate to aromatherapy.  You may have noticed on the home page, I'm launching an
aromatherapy line.  I can't tell you all how excited I am to finally see this happen! As my mother can attest, I have been bathing in scent since the days of borrowing her "Charlie", and have spent years exploring the healing properties of scent.

Essential oils are truly one of the greatest untapped resources of the world.  The power of these concentrated essences have been forgotten in modern times and unfortunately replaced with too many pharmaceuticals.  Even though most people recognize essential oils for their wonderful scent, it is also proven through modern scientific research that essential oils are potent and filled with remarkable medicinal properties.  And, unlike chemical drugs, essential oils do not remain in the body and don't leave any toxins behind.  For example, oil of oregano is 26 times more powerful an anticeptic than phenol, which is the active ingredient in many commercial cleansing materials.

When starting out in the area of Aromatherapy, you may want to start with a few of the basic oils . . . (and make sure when you purchase essential oils you buy them in the form you want to use them for)

Lavender: natural antibiotic, antiseptic, antidepressent, sedative and detoxifier which promotes healing and prevents scaring.

Tea Tree: very powerful antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, great for treating infections.

Peppermint: great for digestion, respiratory system and circulation, headaches, fatigue and even toothaches

Chamomile: antibacterial, antiseptic and disinfectant, as well as an external antiinflammatory,
great for teething, treatment of burns, antidepressent and helps with insomnia.

Eucalyptus: antiinflamatory, antiseptic, antibiotic, diuretic, analgesic and deodorizer, very
effective against coughs and colds.

Geranium:  works profoundly on emotions, skin care, sedative, antiseptic
and astringent.

Rosemary: physical and mental stimulant, great for muscular conditions, arthritis, fatigue, headaches, coughs and flu, cellulite.

Thyme: antiviral, antibiotic, antiseptic, (powerful oil use with caution).

Lemon: water purifier, antiseptic, antibacterial, great for insect bites and tension headaches.

Clove: antibacterial, antiseptic and analgesic, best known for a quick cure for a toothache.

A great place for pure essential oils and tinctures for internal and external use
